With the unbelievable growth that we have experienced over the last two years, it has become harder and harder to maintain the sense of community and high quality information that we valued so much when we founded Reef Central back in October of 1999. Clearly, the key to the growth and success of the site has been the dedication of helpful members. Many of the most helpful members have, over time, become the moderators and staff here at Reef Central.

Managing this site and helping new members was not that bad when, like most other boards, we had about 100 new members a month. But, over the last year, we have been getting 1,000 new members each month. In February, we had over 3,000 new members join Reef Central. It wasn't too hard to manage things when we had 500 posts per month but kind of tough now that we have over 50,000 posts per month and growing fast with no end in sight.

So... back in February, I contacted some very special members and asked them if they would be interested in working with the RC staff and forum leaders to keep RC from becoming victim to it's own success. We have been developing the team and our game plan since then. I am happy to present to you...

Team RC is a group of dedicated marine aquarists who are committed to maintaining the high quality information and community feeling that has made Reef Central the most popular web site for marine aquarists in the world. Team RC will be helping the RC staff and forum leaders to continue the tradition of excellence we have here at RC. Their commitment is demonstrated by contributions of personal time and effort, the exchange of knowledge and ideas, and helping RC to preserve an open and receptive atmosphere that is accessible to all levels of hobbyists.
