I Just Don't Get It.....

I will never understand why there are people who don't appreciate FREE.

Now, immediately on my brain is the fact that I got a $25 comp ticket on a night of a sold out show for someone that really needed to get out and see a show. Fiddler on the Roof has sold out every single performance. Granted, maybe living outside of one's box is hard for some...but most people, given the opportunity and the FREE ticket, might be inclined to use it. OR NOT. Anyway, venting at this point, because in the end, I turned around and sold the ticket to a waitlisted person for 3x what i paid for it. That's how much people wanted to see this show. Some people were still standing there nine minutes into the performance...WAITING. and it paid off, because there ended up being 4 other no shows. And this is where all of this p****s me off. Professional productions, theater, music, art shows...are worth the price of the ticket. Sometimes...more than the price of the ticket. As with this production of Fiddler. That being said...next on the list:

Free. As in: anything given to you as a gift, as a sign of hospitality, kindness, love. Freedom of expression, love, anger..whatever. It's free. Why not use it? Why not embrace it? Why not give some away yourself?

I'm not angry. Really. Just disappointed. Will I get over this? Sure. Eventually. But right now I am FREE to express a bad mood.

....and in my head...i hear Ralph saying, "It's all how you handle it, baby." And somehow...I know I can...i will...and when the day breaks tomorrow? This too, will be in the past.

Now...time for a nice walk...even if it's raining...because it's FREE. And I may never pass this way again.

Too bad some folks miss that.
