I have a mostly sps reef. I had a 425 korellea then upgraded to a 625. my reverse superman monti would not extend its polyps. It is on my back wall. I have a zero nutrient tank no phosphate, no nitrate, Alk 8.5. I saw a deal on a facebook post for a used mp 40 and put it in my 32 gallon bio cube. It is on the lowest setting and nutrient pusher mode turned my tank into a snow globe, it has since settled out a bit. my question is , is that too much flow for my tank?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d9f85ca330.jpg

I don't know of any way to tell other than to let it run for a while. Some corals like a lot of flow. Others are adapted to lagoons or other quiet areas of the ocean.

Most would typically consider an MP40 in a tank that size to be excessive.. Even the manufacturer recommends them down to like 50G as the smallest..

But flow rates vary widely in nature.. Some corals may love higher flow rates while it may rip the skin or damage tissue on others..

Generally speaking, yes, an MP40 is way too much for a tank that small, even on the lowest setting. An MP10 would be much more appropriate.
