Resurrection Of My 130G Tank
Hi Folks,
I paused my hobby coz My son was born with Tetralogy of Fallot. He had a surgery almost 1 year ago. He is healthy right now. So I decided to come back now :) Ofcourse I have neglected my tank so long. I have only 1 Sailfin Tang and a Gorgonia which are thriving although there has been no light but the sun light. Tank Specifications: DT: 140*60*50 cm Sump: 100*45*45 cm Lights: 3* Ecotech Radion XR15 G4 Pro PS: Reef Octopus Regal 250INT (with neck cleaner) Return Pump: Ecotech Vectra M1 Powerheads: 2* Tunze 6055+ 1*Tunze 6095+ 1 Jeboa RW8 Aquacontroller: Apex (old Version) with Orp+pH+Conductivity probes+IO Heater+Cooler etc. I tried to create an aquascape with pvc pipes, yet it is harder than it seems. So be prepare if you gonna try it!!! The problem is I wanted to use all my old stuff, don't wanna buy things that I would only need one time. Not good but I have plans to renovate it. Most of the equipment are my old ones. Only lights are new. I built 2 cabinets, one for electrical equipment , other one for ATO. My tank now only needs a light rack and few calibration and getting cables in order. And time for resurrection. <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48654631373/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0345"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48654631373_89c2f5e887_c.jpg" width="800" height="600" alt="DSC_0345"></a></script> <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48654990136/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0341"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48654990136_962299f002_c.jpg" width="800" height="600" alt="DSC_0341"></a></script> <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48654632988/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0338"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48654632988_04c6935f9d_c.jpg" width="800" height="600" alt="DSC_0338"></a> </script> https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...4af6dc86_c.jpgDSC_0346 by [url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/] <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48655135487/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0342"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48655135487_8e910f165a_c.jpg" width="600" height="800" alt="DSC_0342"></a></script> |
Update:
Hi, I mounted my 3 Radions . No corals, except a Gorgonia, so I lowered the intensity to %30 . I added a phosphate reactor with Rowaphos. My phosphate level changed from 0.103 to 0.134 in 4 days , tests done with Hanna ULR Phosphorus Checker. I guess this happened due to rock aquascaping. <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48676864718/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0361"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48676864718_98eab7dfaf_c.jpg" width="800" height="600" alt="DSC_0361"></a></script> |
Update 2:
Today, I cleaned powerheads. I strongly advise this vacuum cleaner to aquarists who live in a flat. Great helper. After cleaning powerheads' got their full power back. I am using 100 micron filter socks nowadys. It is PITA I know that but wanna use them until WC. I change it every night. After long stall of this hobby, I need to chill out and lower the risk of hasty moves. This socks stop me :) My only fish, he is handsome and playful. Now only calibration of probes is left to be done. Then a WC and then testing will come to plan first corals entry. Have nice day all. <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48682683841/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0365"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48682683841_29d7f9579a_c.jpg" width="800" height="600" alt="DSC_0365"></a></script> <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48682684181/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0366"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48682684181_dbbc1393bf_c.jpg" width="600" height="800" alt="DSC_0366"></a></script> <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48682342873/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0374"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48682342873_1f459e70a5_c.jpg" width="800" height="600" alt="DSC_0374"></a></script> <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48682683176/in/dateposted-public/" title="MOV_0372"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/31337/48682683176_88dae229bd_z.jpg" width="640" height="360" alt="MOV_0372"></a></script> |
Update 3:
Hi, I have been working on Aquarium Room. I changed drapes with Venetian blind. Coz Hard to keep drapes clean, The Boss of our home ordered. :) I put few shelves and paintings to opposite side of the aquarium. I cleaned but not connected chiller yet, not needed now though. Good thing is I can change 100 micron filter socks every other day before it gets clogged and I saw pods while cleaning one of them :) I calibrated Conductivity, pH and ORP probes after cleaning them. I did Alk, Nitrate, Phosphate, Calcium tests. Alk: 6.9 dkH Ca: 385-395 (You will see 2 photos , which blue I couldnt decide for Ca test . So I wrote both numbers correspond to each color) Nitrate: 10-25 ( I also couldnt decide ) Phosphate: 0.04 ( 6 days ago it was 0,134. Rowaphos or precipitation I dunno. Coz kH was 7.4 and Ca is over 400 ) Salinity: 1.027 (I added CaCl2, Mag Flake, Sodium Bicarbonate few days ago. Food Grade. ) I did another Alk test with Aquaforest and result was 7.4 if I read the color correctly. (Its photo also is added) All my tests' brand is Aquaforest btw. Future plan: Add Active Carbon. (This week) Do WC (This week) Adding Fish ( Planning Anthias) ( Next week) Adding Corals (Easy: Goniopora, GSP, Mushrooms and Zoas )(Next week) <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48717652182/in/dateposted-public/" title="IMG-20190911-WA0002"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48717652182_a80f8dedfa.jpg" width="500" height="281" alt="IMG-20190911-WA0002"></a></script> <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48717494241/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0394"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48717494241_d5c5ae7936.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="DSC_0394"></a></script> <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48717494936/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0393"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48717494936_9259817f70.jpg" width="375" height="500" alt="DSC_0393"></a></script> <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48717496871/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0385"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48717496871_d2fd13e432.jpg" width="375" height="500" alt="DSC_0385"></a></script> <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48717158448/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0395"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48717158448_73469e91dd.jpg" width="375" height="500" alt="DSC_0395"></a></script> <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48717492941/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0396"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48717492941_8b640996f5.jpg" width="375" height="500" alt="DSC_0396"></a></script> <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48717663292/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0407"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48717663292_7c4fd58991.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="DSC_0407"></a></script> <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48717156183/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0406"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48717156183_9cc6aa0417.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="DSC_0406"></a></script> |

Update 4:
Activated Carbon added Heater connected Temp Probe connected and put in DT with probe holder WC done 25g Alk: 6.72 dkH Ca: 375 PO4: 0.02 NO3: 5-10 Alkalinity and Ca numbers were dropped coz of coralline algae I suppose. Photo shows that. Light intensity is %35 only. The rock covered with coralline will be a great location for SPS corals I think. I added appropriate CaCl2 into sump and put Sodium Bicarbonate into ATO. Phosphate getting lower with nitrates. Time is coming to add coral and fish soon. <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48731122086/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0417"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48731122086_29ccef8ce5.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="DSC_0417"></a></script> https://flic.kr/p/2hfeqsT |
Update 5:
Hi, nothing much changed in matters of equipment . I just added 3 corals, Goniopora, Undata and Acan. I dunno the varieties of Acan,Undata or Goniopora. I would love to learn if anyone knows specific name of those. Anyway, I put them as their requirements of light and flow. My plan is to have LPS dominated tank with few easy SPS and less few soft corals. <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48753448301/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0459"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48753448301_8bdca70457.jpg" width="375" height="500" alt="DSC_0459"></a></script> <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48753122628/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0462"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48753122628_0465c884fe.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="DSC_0462"></a></script> <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48753123658/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0455"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48753123658_4783fb3b35.jpg" width="375" height="500" alt="DSC_0455"></a></script> |
Update 6:
Due to import regulations problems from Indonesia , we dont have many choice for LPS Corals. We can find but the price phewww! I.e. a small torch coral costs almost 80-90$ with 2-3 heads! I found few SPS corals so much cheaper and put them in my tank. One of them is probably a green slime acro. But I dunno which acro name they may have. I will be glad if you let me know. Thanks. I changed Rowaphos and took the light intensity (Coral Lab+) upto %50 . PO4: 0.04 (due to practising to feed Acan :) ) No3: 10-15 Ca: 450-455 kH: 6.8-7.0 Here are the photos and a video: Bird Nest: <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48768750213/in/dateposted-public/" title="SAM_0810"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48768750213_572ba16806.jpg" width="500" height="426" alt="SAM_0810"></a></script> Green Slime: <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48769282182/in/dateposted-public/" title="SAM_0817"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48769282182_459fa1eb0a.jpg" width="500" height="478" alt="SAM_0817"></a></script> Acropora 1: <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48769083316/in/dateposted-public/" title="SAM_0814"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48769083316_b8efa9ce9f.jpg" width="500" height="373" alt="SAM_0814"></a></script> Acropora 2: <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48769281342/in/dateposted-public/" title="SAM_0809"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48769281342_32c4375ef5.jpg" width="500" height="467" alt="SAM_0809"></a></script> Acropora 3: <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48769281472/in/dateposted-public/" title="SAM_0802"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48769281472_37c663b037.jpg" width="261" height="500" alt="SAM_0802"></a></script> Acropora 4: <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48769282072/in/dateposted-public/" title="SAM_0847"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48769282072_c5ae247911.jpg" width="500" height="357" alt="SAM_0847"></a></script> Acan Lord: <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48769282262/in/dateposted-public/" title="SAM_0815"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48769282262_3cd0068b54.jpg" width="473" height="500" alt="SAM_0815"></a></script> Yellow Goniopora: <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48769282387/in/dateposted-public/" title="SAM_0811"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48769282387_900de4588d.jpg" width="500" height="462" alt="SAM_0811"></a></script> Full Tank Shot: <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/184039554@N08/48760096968/in/dateposted-public/" title="DSC_0511"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48760096968_ecc7d2f100.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="DSC_0511"></a></script> VIDEO: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/NghfJX-gYRA" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
