Green star polyp and tuxedo sea urchin

2 Attachment(s)
So i bought this blue tuxedo sea urchin and lucky me it has green star polyps all over it.

My question is: Is there a safe way to get the urchin to release the green star polyps that wont harm the urchin or the polyps?

Follow up question.

If yes how do i place the green star polyps on rock?

See picture below

You could try a toothpick. However, he will probably drop the gsp off himself with time

And to fasten it to the rock you can either jut place it somewhere where the current won't blow it away or you can use some glue

thats for the update its funny the tuxedo has picke up and dropped off a few different things since joining the tank however the gsp which came on him he has not dropped yet. I am thinking I may just leave it for now as it adds some color/uniqueness to the urchin

I can't wait until my tank is mature enough for a tuxedo urchin. They're quite the little characters with their wardrobe. 🎩
