Yet another awesome tank :D Congrats John!
|
Wow. Great stuff.
You make me want to be a better reefer..... |
John,
Congratulations! Just when you think you're satisfied along comes a setup that makes you say "WOW! I want one of those." Great work and dedication! Now for a couple quick questions: 1) I have a Coral Beauty and have always followed the obvious wives tale of one dwarf angel to a system. With your experience can you comment on building a group of Coral Beauty's? (I have a 240 with a school of damsels, a school of Bartlett Anthias, a Kole Tang, and a Yellow Tang.) 2) Also, which of the dwarfs have you found best suited to grouping and what are the most important factors in setting up a successful group? Anyways, thanks for sharing! Now I have something to work towards: More tanks, and more fish :lmao: Joe |
John,
Now that I've picked up my jaw off of the floor, I can say "WOW!" Amazing tanks! I too have been a huge advocate of certain angels being "reef-safe" given the right environment. I grew tired of blindly accepting what others claimed to be the truth, and did my own research/experimentation and found that success can be had with this very beautiful fish. I'm still a little in shock after looking at your TOTM, so I might have some questions for you after my brain starts functioning normally again. Congrats! |
I have to admit that when I saw that you had won TOTM before I thought that someone was playing favorites but after I went through your pictures and comments I understand why you have received this tittle again. All of your tanks are amazing!! Congratulations.

Congratulations, John! Your reef tanks and collection of rare and exotic reef fish are absolutely amazing.

John. Congratulation.
|
Congrats John! Awesome tanks! I believe I have a couple of your frags that are doing quite well.
I would also like to hear more about your success keeping Ventralis. I tried 2 a few years ago and they didn't make it past the first day. |
John. Congratulation!!
Do you feed corals? what do you give them? |
Tanks look amazing! Wish I had gotten to your talk in Omaha and pick your mind abit. Perhaps our paths will cross again in the future. Once again well done!!
|
Wow....Just freakin',wow.
|
Congratulations again John! Lookin packed! Nice coral formations!
|
Congrats John!
Your tanks are as always awe-inspiring! You really have some special systems. The tables are incredible while your angel fish are majestic. Hopefully, I'll make it to DC soon to see it myself. We'll have to get you back down here in Dallas. Hope you and your family are well! Ryan |
Wow! Thank you all so much! It is an absolute joy to share my system with all of you throughout the world!

Spectacular!
Would you be kind enough to tell me where you sourced the plastic mesh I noticed covering one of the tanks?
|
Wow! I love your tanks. Can you show us how you set up your reef rooms. Additional pictures of the filtration system and chaeto tank setup would greatly be appreciated. I'm still new to the hobby and still learning. Much thanks.

Wonderful setups and the most elegantly written and informative TOTM article so far. Thanks for taking the time to compose it.

Good evening John !
Congratulations from Panama beautiful and very impressed with yr tanks and all of your set-ups !! Also very informative your comments in general. I have 2 questions for you: 1) the distance of the lights from the surface of the water to the bulbs. mine are abt 10 inches 3 x 250W 14K M. Halides. 2) dimensions of your main tank 180 glns. I started months ago with few sps frags purchased in Miami and I wonder if the distance is OK !! my tank is 150 glns capacity. thanks in advance yr kind attention. Regards Fernando Chang |
You can find it at home depot or bulkreefsupply.com[/QUOTE]
