External, Recirculating Skimmers: Reef Octo Regal vs. SRO?

I'm considering Reef Octopus external/recirculating skimmer. Only/primary difference I see between Regal line and SRO line is that Regal line uses Varios pump as the recirculation pump, whereas SRO line uses Bubble Blaster pump. Other than that, they seem to have the same configuration.

I could get SRO 3000 (up to 400 g capacity, which is plenty!) for $780, or even an SRO 2000 (up to 250 g, which is right at my system size) for $680, whereas Regal 200 (300 g, medium load) would be $840. Is there any real reason to go with the Regal line? The feed pump I'll be using is a Varios-2, and I figure why would I need to regulate the speed of the recirculation pump, too???? Just adds more difficulty finding the sweet spot, no?
