Drilled/Bulkhead for power gear wires etc?
So has anyone routed their wires through the back of a tank through a bulkhead or something similar?
I hate going over the top for power heads etc. I was thinking a small bulkhead near the top of the back panel that has a 90 fitted to the outside of the tank so the top of the 90 is above the water level (near flush with top of tank) that I could fish wires through for a cleaner look without risk of leaking? Anyone do this or something similar? |
Be careful-- not advised to be close to a glass edge & drilling a hole.

I have routed them up through PVC in an overflow. Problem is you need a pretty large diameter tube unless you plan to cut the ends off the power cords to feed them through. Even bigger to go through 90s. I would have the exit point well above water level to prevent possible issues.

I think @slief has done this with his power heads.

I did this exact same thing on a Nuvo20 and it worked really well. Since the rear chamber is a lower waterline, I was able to drill lower to avoid cracking.
