Kalk vs. 2-part

I am currently doing 2-part dosing for Alk and Calc. I have had this tuned in just fine for a long time, no issues with it. To help battle Dino I need to increase my pH, which I have been told Kalk will help with?

Do you think that my pH will really have much of a change when switching out some 2-part with Kalk? i.e. worth the extra effort?

If I do start using Kalk as well, any idea how much of my 2-part dosage the Kalk will offset? I know each tank will differ, but as a general guideline what is it (30%, 70%, etc...) so I can dial back my 2-part to not over or under dose much.

It is going to depend on a few factors. How do you plan to dose the Kalk. Through a reactor of via top off water. What is your evaporation rate?

I would use a reactor. My tank goes through 4-5 gallons per day of evaporation.

One gallon of saturated limewater is equivalent to about 86 ml of the recipe 1 DIY 2-part. You can use that ratio, but the consumption might change quite a bit. I'd expect at least a bit of a drop, but different tanks respond differently.
