Wavemakers with 9002 skimmer and Osmolator

Wondering if adding a wave making device to a tank with no sump, so skimmer and osmolator are in-tank, will really screw with functionality of the skimmer.

The osmolator I could run at night when the wavemaker is in night mode so that would prevent the wavy surface from affecting things too much.

But would the skimmer be totally thrown off with the wave action? Even if waves remained below the max water mark?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Depending on the amount of wave action you have , but you may be able to put a round acrylic tube open on both ends with the sensor of the osmolator inside of it . Sort of shielding the sensor from the wave. all you need is a short tube.
As far as the skimmer this might be a bit difficult.

Perhaps Roger will chime in .

The ideal would be to place the osmolator and skimmer in the center of the tank where there is no or minimal change to the water level. If this is not possible the osmolator will work itself out but you will need to monitor it, it will reach a water level which is a average as it must not detect water for 5 seconds to run the pump and will overfill for 10 seconds. I have done this and it works, the skimmer won't perform optimally, it will surge so the foam is driven up be the wave action and then is pulled back down.

Thanks Roger. I will post back with results.
