Anyone have a clown fish Harem tank
 
I have a 180 tank with 30 gal sump .But pho has became a problem
I am running GFO, Algae scrubber w/160 flow rate Also A
Vertex Skimmer 200i I check Pho this morning .42
I have 40 clowns fish and 12 anemones
Also feeding at 11am and 7pm any ideas thx.
I am running a roller mat

it's not about how many fish you have, it's about how much you feed.
if you have extra nutrient, always mean you dont export more or equal to what you put in.

Like stated above the problem is coming from type/amount of food you are adding to the tank. Now a days there are very aggressive ways to get phosphates to almost zero. A buddy of mine uses lanthanum chloride on a regular basis with fantastic results. He did lose a fish but he does not believe it was related to the lanthanum. Enough GFO will also take care of your phosphate issue, but that will be at a much higher cost.
