Anyone shipped maxima clams to a different state before?
So has anyone shipped maxima clams out over night before? If so do you keep air in a bag with maxima clams or remove all the air and only keep water in the bag?
Need advice ASAP will clams be ok without air in the shipping bag or does it need the air for the overnight shipping? I do know clams do not like air so what are everyone’s thoughts? |
No air in the bag is typically best

Will no air suffocate the clam tho? Also how much water do they need in the bag with them?
|
+1 to no air and enough water to keep the clam fully submerged plus some... like 2 finger widths
|
Thanks for the quick response, just wanted to be sure and have them shipped properly
|
Heat packs are probably in order too depending on where you’re shipping to and from
|
At the wholesale level, leaving Los Angeles, clams are usually packed like fish and corals, roughly 50-50 water and pure oxygen. Though some use a little more water and less ox.

Thanks for all the info, these have already been shipped airless and upright clams

Hey guys, I'm looking for advice/direction on what my next fish should be. I currently have a clown, sailfin tang, two-spot brissletooth tang, and a blue hippo tang in right now. its a 75 gallon reef tank and I'm looking for one last fish to reach my max! Please tell me what you think and some good ideas to consider!
Thank you!! |
