Why are there yellow spots on my algae scrubber
 
Is this normal? Do I have too much or too little light or flow?

How often do you clean the screen?

Should or do? :) I should scrape it every two weeks. In practice, more like every 3. If you go too long, clumps of algae start breaking off.
