I have never used Rowaphos . All media’s exhaust depending on how high your Phosphate levels are. The higher the level the faster they exhaust.

I'm having a problem with residue coming out of my reactor getting on the sandbed what am I doing wrong?

GFO needs to be rinsed to get rid of the "fines" before using.
The top of the reactor should barely tumble. Too much movement could cause the media to grind itself down causing it to flow out of the reactor.
