Chaeto Reactor Installed
Recently I decided to explore the chaeto reactor as an option to help export nutrients. Having used GFO previously I was looking for a more natural (and less messy) way to naturally help reduce the slight green in my DT.
Installed on Friday (pic on left). Three days later Monday (pic on right). Repurposed Aquatop MR-20 reactor and LED light strip from Marine Depot. https://i.imgur.com/JwCRvtkm.jpg Results/growth can be seen already. Looking at the interior tube it can be seen in the pic on the left, yet covered and unseen in the pic on right. |
Okay that is pretty awesome I never would of thought of that

In turn I wanted to share my initial experience. |
Which light strip did you use?

Would like to see someone make a submersible one. I understand that this unit is water resistant. My entire sump takes up the interior cabinet. Don't have room outside, besides its much safer to have reactors inside the sump for obvious reasons.
Anyone know of one that can be submerged with the same lighting? |
Not with this light. The end is just capped and not water tight sealed.

and you think this is going to be less messy....:lmao:

That's pretty cool. Makes me want to try that set up....

I suggest going with the largest reactor you can afford/fit. This will help pull more nutrients and give you more time before needing to harvest.
