Coral Spotlight | Ricordia
Common names:Ricordia, mushrooms, button polyps, hairy mushrooms
Difficulty Level:Mushrooms and ricordia are some of the best beginner corals. Feeding: All species have the ability to capture prey, but that ability will vary from species to species. They can also capture nutrients directly from the water, so may prefer a slightly dirtier aquarium. Lighting (Level 2 to 8): Mushrooms and ricordia can adapt to almost any type of lighting. Water flow: They are adaptable to nearly any type of flow. Placement: Mushrooms and ricordia are quick growers which may overtake other corals, so leave some room for growth. General: They may detach from rocks and float around the aquarium to find a better placement. They can be hard to frag due to the fact that they cannot be glued. Attaching them to small rocks with rubberbands, fishing line, or string usually works best https://captivecoral.net/portfolio/ricordia/https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2d99a29dfd.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...678989dd86.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d43b2ec776.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4276e7509c.jpg Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk |
I would disagree on one point - ricordea ime are very easy to glue and stay put afterward assuming conditions are favorable. Mushrooms (actinodiscus) do not glue down for any useful period of time.
