Plating Monti growing down

1 Attachment(s)
I have this green plating monti so far has started been plating upwards over the last few months a large portion on the ltop eft has been slowly growing downward and has now fused into the main body and the piece on the top right has also started to grow downwards is this natural or due to water chemistry

it's going to grow in the form that seems most advantageous at the time to formation. it is natural.

I have a red plating monti that has curled down and around a rock. looks as though it melted and drooped down the rock like plastic would if melted. Perfectly normal, they grow any way they see fit.

I really like the way it made an arch (lower right) and continues to grow in and around whatever and however it wants to.

IMHO, part of what makes this hobby so fascinating - just because you think it should do "X" doesn't mean it isn't going to do "Y" instead.

Here's mine, started out as a piece about the size of a quarter.

I wish mine would grow downwards lol

Mine grows downwards but I have noticed that where light is poor it grows upward. Which makes me think it could be too much light??
