Coral Growth is Shadowing Clam
Si my tank is about 6 years old. My SPS growth is off the charts. So my clam is getting huge but he is getting less light. Lately he spends more time closed than usual.
Should I try to move him? I dont think I can if I wanted... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/oFdC08T1K8c" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
It is going to need light or it will eventually die. Maybe time to move it on to a different home with less coral blocking the light?

I would be more inclined to move the rocks that are sandwiching him in there first. If it had more room it may move on its own to a brighter spot. That way your not risking damaging its foot if it is still using one. My clam is much smaller than yours but whenever I change the MP40s flow pattern I'll find the clam in a different location the next morning.
