Purple Tang & Dried Milk Spots - Pathogen ID

Not sure what to make of this - I doesn't seem to be ick and I would think that if it was Velvet the fish should be dead by now but it has been in QT for almost 3 weeks.

I've treated with CP (via IckShield) - in the qt for three weeks. Any suggestions as to what this could be?

The tang has the white blotches that look like dried milk only on one side.

Picture 6 is the best representation of what it looks like in real life.

Any idea what this is and how I should treat it?

I do not see signs on any other fish.

Do the blotches look like someone splashed bleach on it? Different sizes and forms? I had the same thing happen with my purple tang while in qt. It cleared right up after I put her in the display. I think it was either the water quality or stress from being in a small qt for 4-6 weeks.

yes really faint and light bloches. I't doesn't look like individual "dots" or grains. more of a discoloration.

I pulled her from the DT with it.

maybe the water quality - going to change salts and see what happens.

I can't open your link to view the pictures.

I had a problem with my purple tang about four years ago. No idea what caused it and I did not know what to do for treatment. It all faded away after a few weeks, and he is still with me today.

Does it look anything like this?

wow elFloyd that looks bacterial or fungal infection.. glad it cleared up on it's own, doesn't look good.

reefers4u, I also can't see the pics on that site. this site allows you to attach pics like elfloyd did.. that would help.
