is my BTA dying?

I added this BTA to my tank about a month ago. After the first day it looked normal with semi-elongated bubble tipped tentacles. I've feed it twice so far, both times I feed it a small piece of squid. over the past week its tentacles have shortened into small balloons and it avoids direct light, preferring the shaded back corner of my tank. On one side the tentacles have turned a neon green color. This is my first BTA so I am not sure how to gauge it's health, it just doesn't seem happy.

I have it in a 30 gallon tank with 250W metal halide (19K double ended)
The tank is a year old; sparsely populated
clownfish x 1
tiger tail x 1
turbo snail x 4
hermit crab x 2
conch x 1

GSP, flower pot, and Cyphastrea corals
