The only DC pump would be the RD3 50 but I’d stick with the AC pump for the time being. The newer Supermarin have had some subtle design changes to make them more efficient with the RD3. You’d likely need to increase your sump level with the RD3 and there is nothing wrong with the performance of the RD1500 on that skimmer. Those pumps will last indefinitely with routine mainenance so there should be nothing for you to worry about unless you just want to spend the money.
