It does, by quite a bit. So it should have a wider flow, bit it is also a lot more powerful. On a comparable setting to the wp-25 it would have a wider flow, but crank it up to a comparable level to the vortech and it will be more direct than the MP. At least thats how I think it would be, ill let someone that has experience with it chime in.
A side note, the vortech seems to pull a lot more from lower in the tank, such as across the sand. A properly placed WP may do the same, but I have my doubts.
