They certainly will do that if given the opportunity. I've always found it strange that some Peacocks develop a "relationship" with a damsel while others simply eat them. Very unusual animals. That's why it's difficult to give people advice about fish with mantis shrimp. I still think it's safer to just keep a Peacock in their own tank. They're cool enough on their own!
