I certainly am glad I've kept all this incredible Fiji rock in the display and the refugium of my quarantine tank for the past 20 years. I was able to set up a new display with live rock and NO hitchhikers except 'pods and bristle worms. I don't even have coralline algae despite bright halides.

I bought several hundred pounds of this stuff off a dealer in Columbus, OH many years ago.

He got it by going to Fiji with many tons of Sakrete and cinder blocks. The Fijians were going to use the coral rock for building material. He simply traded them on a 2 to 1 basis.

Pure genius. He had enormous concrete vats full of live Fiji coral rock which was (and still is) the lightest, most porous live rock I've seen.

My biggest regret is how much of this rock I gave to my clients. I could have sold it to LFSs and made a small fortune.
