Caulerpa does export nutrients well though I think I would much prefer the turf algae in the scrubber. For starters, the turf algae grows more dense and faster in the scrubber. The other reason is that caulerpa is one of the most invasive species of macro algae that we have to deal with in our tanks and not something I would want in any part of my system. While it is true that rabbit fish will eat it as well as some tangs, it's next to impossible to contain or eradicate once it gets a foot hold in the main display. All it takes is one tiny piece or a tiny runner to make it through your return pump and that's all she wrote. It's also know to go sexual and if it does, it will be all over the tank. If I were in your shoes, I would take the scrubber screen out and scrub the heck out of it to get rid of any roots/runners. Worst case, I might even run that area down with some peroxide to insure there are no remnants.
