Smile The plunge - 90 gallon new build & newb question

Ok - so I'm starting a reef tank. I've always wanted one and finally feel settled enough as far as housing and life goes to attempt this. I looked at a guy's used FOWLR setup, and almost went for it, but my SO suggested just going from scratch (hey, sounds good to me!) since I was lamenting that the tank wasn't drilled, no skimmer, etc. So off to the LFS I went.

Picked up the tank and canopy today. Here it is.

Here's the sump:

I started to read the overflow kit directions to try to plumb it and there are two 3/4 in return bulkheads. It says "3/4" Universal or 3/4" bulkhead with Hose Barb". Any idea which one I should use? I'm clueless about that.

The canopy - We bought this today along with T5 retrofits.....we'll see how the wiring goes. I decided I just couldn't risk my cat falling into the tank or cleaning off his cat litter paws in the water. Ugh.
