All three of my Idols died. They did OK for a while but never great.
Since then, I got another Idol who is doing very well. It eats pellets and is very curious and active, just like the one I had for 8 years. I think this one will last a long time.
I think cyanide is still a big problem in the industry, and when I get a fish that seems healthy and is eating, but then stops eating and slowly wastes away with no other sign of disease, I attribute it to probable cyanide. I think that was what happened to the previous 3.
