Thanks for posting this OP, as I was having same sort of thought. Here during winter we get to 0C (32F) so I wasnt sure if it would be wise to even think of something like this. I was thinking about having QT and coral grow out tank in garage. QT wouldnt be too big of an issue cause i could get fish and keep qt running during warmer months (6 months at least), but grow out tank would have to be going 365, which could be an issue cold wise.

On the other hand this could be a good thing (for QT at least) as it would slow me down during late fall, winter and early spring. I wouldnt be really adding anything to the DT, so it would give it time to get all parameters right, and get everything happy
