The ideal would be to place the osmolator and skimmer in the center of the tank where there is no or minimal change to the water level. If this is not possible the osmolator will work itself out but you will need to monitor it, it will reach a water level which is a average as it must not detect water for 5 seconds to run the pump and will overfill for 10 seconds. I have done this and it works, the skimmer won't perform optimally, it will surge so the foam is driven up be the wave action and then is pulled back down.
