Turaki: Placement, flow?
Got the Hawkins and a blue turaki not too long ago. I run small 10 gallon setup with a 150w radium on it. I thought that they appreciate high light, so I placed them high on my rocks.
Oops. Mistake. The blue turaki bleached a bit. I moved both down to the bottom of the tank, under the shade of an arch. I was hoping people could chime in with advice on where better to place my turakis. |

150w on a 10 gallon? that's a lot of light. turaki like corals are generally deeper water corals. low even lighting is good. I put some of those kinds of corals 15+ inches from the water surface.

Haha, 15+ inches... Even if I move it to the sand bed, it *might* be 15 inches from the bulb. I guess not much to do except keep it at the bottom. Thanks for the tip.
While I'm at it, should I move my nasuta down too? I think my slimer and stags are doing ok, close to the light, but starting to worry about my nasuta. Last edited by mew; 11/05/2009 at 03:54 AM. |

Its 4" above my sand under my SP6x54. best to place it low. I've move it from high to low, finally pulled the baby blue color down low.
start all your frags at the bottom and move them up each week to see where it likes it best |
