need help Perc Clowns just laid eggs!!

So I have 2 perc clowns that I thought mated awhile ago. They where same size then one grew a lot bigger than the other which is the female I know. They are always together. For past couple days the male never left the corner of the tank that they sleep in. He only came for food then went back there. I noticed the female was getting fat in the chest area with a little black. Tonight I decided to look at their corner because it seems they were cleaning the area up. Low and behold I found eggs. What do I do now? I know most people remove eggs and hatch them in separate tank. I cant do this because eggs were laid on the overflow box . Any help? I will post pics one a min if I can figure out how too.

Unless you have a ready source of lots of rotifers, I'd let this batch go and get a rotifer culture started now so that your ready for the next batch

Drop down into the Breeding Forum and do some reading. There are a couple of very informative and long running threads on breeding clowns that you will find helpful

Yea I started reading and realized Im letting this batch go and possablly next one and then gonna try and place a tile right where they laid them to make it easier to pull out. I also read some where that i can siphon them out using a air line tube the night they hatch.

... just a note. slow down in adding calcium. You got some Ca precipitation all over. Get an Elos kit and keep it around 500 mg.

hope it helps,
Marian

Dave is right, those white spots your seeing in gauma369's are a species of feather duster that creates a nice calcerous tube

I don't even add much calcium. Haven't tested in awhile but I have been adding B-ionic 2 part but I use a little less then the minimum that it says to use and I don't do it every day more like every other day or so sometimes every 3 days. I don't have corals as of right now so I'm just using the 2 part to sustain calcium for coralline growth and snails and shrimps to grow. But I do have bunch those feather duster things. The have little spiral tubes.

2 alternatives:

1 - get tons of pods
2 - Prepare a nice clown caviar

good luck
