Not really. It was used to being around 7-8, and now it is at 8-9 dkH. So it shouldn't be it. Plus I tested it with two different kits.

Thank you for helping out. I can use any ideas to solve this eluding problem.

I am zeroing down on knowing what the problem is. Too much Vit C caused pure water, eliminating any nutritional value for the corals. They started to starve and receded. My montipora were the first to show signs of stress. But now I can see them slowly coming back. The polyps are coming out of the coenosteum, so that is a huge positive.

This question could be for everyone, including Randy..

At this point, I still see some recession in new corals. Would a water change effectively do anything at this point? Isn't vit c already metabolized? Does anyone have a suggestion?

Whether water changes will help depends on exactly what's happening. How many and what size changes have been done so far?

The thing is my first water change was negated by me adding more vit c. So it doesn't count. This new one would have been about 25% (140 gallons).

I might try a few water changes, personally, but it's hard to know how much they'll help.
