All of these are from what I imagination.
The epoxy just bought from local farm in Taiwan, very good quality.

I have been back tracking on reading your thread and you have a large acro that's stripping in the centre and you cut it up.I have a similar thing happening to a very large SSC with a centre branch losing flesh is it best practice to remove the colony a cut out the stripped piece .Its one of my favourite pieces approx. 8 inches this has happened when I changed the rotors in my gyres power heads .If I leave it will it settle down or continue stripping.

thanks Bill

from experience and discussion with some of sps reefer in Taiwan, it seems the strip from centre branch this sps almost can not survive no mater how small piece you cut it from this sps.
I remember I cut my sps in about 20 small pieces but non of one survive.

Maybe someone else has better method to make it survived, I just do not know.

Wow that last picture of the tank from the side looks outstanding! The images are looking better too, much more colorful. So what happened after the rock changes? What about the acros changed?

You can see the some kind turf algae on rock, they are show up after I change the rocks.
Most of sps just got a little bit dark brown and two acres turning white slowly.

Your tank and set up is amazing! I spent several hours reading your posts and enjoying all of your SPS porn photos.

I see that you have left your tank alone for 2 months while you were in China. May I ask how did you maintain your filter socks and skimmers while you were gone? I usually have to change my filter socks every week and clean my skimmer every 3-4 days.

I do appreciated your inputs =)

thanks

Firstly I do not use filter sock, I use white sponge usually but when I took vacation I completely removed out the sponge.

Secondly, I kept my skimmer at real high position before I went for vacation and the efficiency will get lower and lower. In my test my skimmer can suffer about 90 days without clearance.

But most important thing is I have KHG to maintain my KH value in stable all them time.

So it is how I keep my tank when I have long vacation.

I can't imagine your fully stocked SPS tank runs without mechanical filtration along with a semi-working skimmer for well over 2 months without corpses.

Do you see a spike on your NO3 & PO4 when you came back from vacation?

I had to ask my friend to come every other day to check on the tank when I went to Tainan and Kaohsiung.
