Arrow Vote for Thread of the Month

Each month all Reef Central members are presented with a poll (or link to a poll) in the Reef Discussion forum to vote on. There will be three threads to choose from, and you are only allowed to vote once. This month we are featuring three threads each from a different forum. We encourage you to follow the links provided below, to read and enjoy these threads. All three are full of information and are each equally worthy.

The winning thread will not only be made as a sticky thread in its forum of origin, but it will also be listed in the next issue of Reefkeeping

To those whose threads are listed this month and all who participated in them, we would like to give our thanks and appreciation!

This month’s nominees are:

No lights for 3 days every couple of months works wonders!
The Big Controller Comparison Chart.
Study of Skimmers!!! Lets Discuss!!!

Please consider the positive impact impact on the environment by having large numbers of hobbyists cutting back on their lighting schedules every once an awhile. Eventually I would like to see an organized no-lights day to help conserve energy world wide. I ask that all of you equipment junkies vote for this thread and show your support. I know both the other threads up for nomination have their merits but now is your chance to help cut down on the energy all of our tanks consume daily.

Cheers and happy reefing!

~Spike

Try reading the skimmer thread aswell, coz I believe the "no lights" guy has no skimmer and a lovely tank. Interesting...

I like this feature melev, nice 1.

We've been doing this for over 2 years. It (the poll) always occurs during the final days of the month, so that they winning thread can be featured in the next issue of Reefkeeping Online.

I think the No lights for 3 days is an important thread to have as a permanent thread. Theres some real good skimmer threads, but none that address the cyano problems that are asked so often, as well as this thread.
Its got my vote.

3 days no lights is a very useful and imo the best/safest thing against algae.

Don't jinx it! Its not often in life that I actually win something! In all my years here I never though I would win a thread of the month.

Ya and I kept it a secret for you.

At one time I was thinking that thread you started might get nominated.

Just wanted to say great job on the controller comparison! It was very helpful. But tough competition this month, or it wouldve won IMO. Sorry I couldnt give it a vote.
