New 300 gallon tank project
Here is Landen's and my new project to keep us busy. I finally convinced him into getting our poor fish a bigger home (with the help of some fellow members). The 150 just was not big enough....However, I think this new 300 gallon will suffice for a little while. The tank is 72x36x27....Think the fish will be happy?
The tank is still up in Richmond and should be delivered this Friday. I can't wait.

I'm totally jealous. Them's some great dimensions...a little less tall than mine and 6" more front to back. Nice cabinet. Wanna call rkehockey16 (paul) for a deal on some nice tangs? I could house them in my fuge for a bit.
Did you take the tank pics? Keep up with the photo diary.

Pics will keep coming, I promise. The next set will be of them trying to fit it in the front door.
Fin room is definately a plus here as well as the arm room. I took the pictures on my camera phone. I was a little shocked at how welll the pictures came out. Tangs are in the future, but Landen says this is going to be a long term project for us. So I say we should be looking at getting new fish in about 2-3 months. Filling the tank is going to probably take a week and then Landen wants to get new rock and sand. Photos and progress will be posted

First challenge will be floor joist issues. Discovered last night that the area that we planned on sticking the new tank is directly over our air intake for the first floor, which leaves only one good floor joist underneath it and no way to box it in from the basement because of the duct work and air handlers.
Hopefully we can settle on a different location today, so I can determine what reinforcements will be needed.

That is a great looking tank, SF front and sides or just the front? Already got the stink eye from Trina because I said that our 180 is over 15 years old and should be replaced soon.
Looking forward to seeing that beast running. Well done guys.

It is going to be awesome and I can't wait to get it started...but just like everything else in this hobby you have to be patient. With this size tank there are A LOOOOOOT of options going through our heads, we just have to decided on one at some point. Although....this size tank can handle a few options....LOL

Landen's looking at selling it, possibly. Oversized sump would be nice but so would a little cash to help the new tank with its lift off.

Oh, there isn't any possibly looking to sale. It will be for sale. I have had several PM's asking for details of our current tank and when it will be ready for a new home. This is a current picture taken this morning. All of the livestock and rock will be transferred but the lighting and skimmer will also be for sale.
Eric, Candace said you guys could put it in the bedroom. It would be just like a waterbed.

That would be a great move Steve. If I was in the market for a tank i would like to get it, but like Eric right now I think I would turn it into a vivarium. Sweet tank.

Let me know what your looking to get for it, lights etc. and you may have a sale. they are not looking for anything right away so no worries on when it becomes available. Evan |

Steve,
The dimensions are 48"x24"x29" I believe. It is an Oceanic Ultimate Series. The light is a 2x250W Maristar Fixture, real nice light... Evan, Sent PM

Yeah man tha twould be an easy change for me and the wall....I've got a 90 now and the footprint is pretty close. Just need to open the hole up taller. PM me the price you are thinking for the tank.
Ade..... that 90 would give me all kinds of room for frags/softies or fish holding.............hhhmmmmmmm

update
As promised here are new pictures of the tank in the house. It was delivered this morning, and surprisingly didn't take that long to throw it up.
This is the room before the tank in went in there. The tank completely put together.
