what is this?
These scribbled angels have through over 35 days of full QT protocol. 2 plus weeks of copper testing with Hanna then TTM to treat for flukes with General cure. All this time fish are acting totally normal, no scratching, eyes clear, eating everything, begging for food. It has been over a week with no meds in water and they are still acting normal. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Possible bacteria infection? Hard to tell from the pictures. Can you describe in detail what you see, also behavior hasn't changed?

It's probably the "mystery disease" - which sometimes occurs after a fish has been exposed to copper.
Could be a negative skin reaction to copper or possibly a latent virus which copper (being an immunosuppressant) triggers. Some have reported success treating it with Kanaplex + Metroplex, which suggests it could be bacterial in nature, but could also just be a coincidence. I personally would treat with Kanaplex + Metroplex for 2 weeks just to be on the safe side. |

meds
there is no expiration date on my Kanaplex or metroplex. Do they expire? Are they hard on the biological filtration? Thanks

Assuming your QT biofilter is strong, they're not too harsh on nitrifying bacteria; but they do expire.

Hi Humblefish, since this is just about a guessing game how long do you think i should give the antibiotics to work. The directions say to dose every 48 hours. thanks for your help. Tom
