Can I add soft coral which is directly from sea into my 18g tank ?

My LFS said he would bring soft coral directly from sea . Is it fine to do that ?
He said nothing would go wrong . Is that true ?

I would like to do diy method by dettol or hydrogen peroxide . Will it work ?
