Personal preference for stand color

So I'm trying to sell my 48 gallon rimless aquarium but I'm not getting a lot of bites. It's basically a 48 gallon ADA style setup that I drilled so that the overflow is on the side panel like a paninsula, but the stand is not positioned in a paninsula fashion. I think it's a beautiful setup. All hard plumbed with red and white pvc. The tank and sump are ultra clear glass on all panels. It's as glass box as it gets. I think that people aren't into my stand color choice though. I built the stand to look like ADA, but it's made from red oak in which I stained. So it's a very natural oakwood finish. I think people aren't into this so much. My choices are basically give this thing away or try another color choice. So my question is what color would YOU prefer as a stand. The tank is ultra clear glass with a white acrylic overflow (looks like reef savvy), and red pvc powered by an external (red and white) reef octopus dc 3500. Maybe I'll try a poll...

Stand color to be:
#1 white
#2 gray
#3 blue
#4 leave natural oakwood

None of the above
Darker stain

But I'd wait more on doing anything.. Saw your one post.. Only what.. 5 days old.. Tanks don't sell too fast from what I've seen.. Seems like your price is decent too..

If I end up painting it I'm not sure what paint will work without having to sand it. I used Dutch oil as the finish. I know chalk board paint will work but it'll be chalkboard paint. Could be pretty cool.

Making changes could actually narrow your audience, I always suggest to match your existing decor, that will vary.
I agree, 5 day old post is nothing, don't forget many were probably busy this weekend due to game.

I think it depends on the home and Decor where you are putting it..

For me would be white , If you over build the stand you take away form the beauty inside ..

It will be hard to paint over stain.

To make it easier to sell I would leave it alone, or just a bottom priming coat so it's ready to paint to match the new owners furniture.

For selling I'd leave it as is. Very rarely do you get your money back from things like this, unless it's already painted and is either in bad shape, or a funky color like orange or something.

That being said, I like white myself. It looks sleek, and also happens to hide dried salt drips very well.

My current tank has chalkboard for the stand and It looks really good. It's a nice flat black and makes the bright tank pop. Plus my nephew loves coloring my stand with chalk when he comes to visit. I've even left instructions written on the chalkboard for when I have a friend take care of the tank when I'm away.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts. If it doesn't sell I might just paint it white.

This is not true.... If you use a urethane oil base stain you need to prime or use a oil base paint... You should for this type of furniture anyway

If you use water base sealer then scuff up and paint with latex paint..

Its about compatible finishes one is not harder then the other.
