I use the pump for water change, since i changed i to a Jebao before I started my tank.
But when I use it the noise isn't bad. I bought the Jebeo pump as many wrote that the pump was loud. |

I switched mine out for a MJ 1200 for more flow, but I still use the original to mix salt in my office, and it makes no appreciable noise. I would take it apart and examine the impeller shaft (broken shafts are a common cause of impeller noise from rattling).
That said, many IM 20 owners replace the stock pump for either a MJ 1200 (Cobalt brand, not Marineland) or Sicce Syncra 1.5 to gain additional flow, and either of those will be relatively noise-free.

mine was noisy too
Mine was dead silent for a week or two and then started buzzing...
I would definitely change the pump out. I am going with the Jebao DC pump for the swap.... but many do the MJ1200 which cant go wrong either Tim

Is the pump you're talking about the one that comes with the BRS Nuvo 20 package?
https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/nuvo-...arium-kit.html I actually ordered the same package if so, the pump has been running for over a year now, no noise, no vibrations, can't hear it at all opposed to my skimmer & reactor. The tank is actually in my room. |

Jebao pump for my Lagoon 25
Here is the pump I may use to swap out for my Lagoon 25..however, I was advised to consider waiting a bit because IM is coming out with a new pump...
I am wondering and have to consider if they can create the crappy one why would I give them a second chance...I have never had trouble with a Jebao although I am positive they are not as dependable as Tunze or Vortech of course...but best bang for buck I have found... This the one I will likely use to upgrade standard pump and it fits like a glove apparently in the back of the Lagoon 25...and its a DC pump... Jebao DC 2000 Controllable Nano Water Pump w/ level float (235 to 525 GPH) They are 87.95 CANADIAN! So like 5 bux american! lololol Tim

I replaced the single pump in my IM Fusion 30L with 2 Sicce pumps, made a huge difference in flow and noise.
