Drilling glass

Have just noticed that on the side of the aquarium there is label and on it is BSEN12150. I was planning on drilling this aquarium but unsure if I can now??
Has anyone come across this type of glass? Google has found some results and it appears to be Thermally toughened soda lime silicate safety glass.

Not sure about those numbers...

You can tell if glass is tempered by looking at it through polarized sunglasses.

In a lot of cases, the bottom is tempered but the sides aren't.

Yes, put a laptop or computer (LCD screen) inside the tank and look through the glass wearing polarized sunglasses. If the screen appears striped, the glass is tempered, if the screen does not have stripes, it is not tempered.

I'm certainly not a glass expert, but 'thermally toughened' sounds like a typically quaint English term for tempered.

Thanks for the reply guys, I’ll dig out a pair of polarized sunglasses. Do you need a computer screen behind the glass or just a light?? Ca1ore you are right

Yes it needs to be an LCD screen. Look it up in the internet. There's YouTube videos on how to and what it looks like.
