Adding calcium chloride

When I add calcium chloride solution to my reef tank to raise calcium level, does it create any precipitation and lower KH?

Generally, the calcium supplements won't do that. If they are added in large volumes to a smaller volume of water, they might. The alkalinity supplements, because of their comparatively high pH, are much more like to cause problems.
