Orbit Marine vs Orbit Marine IC

So I've been out of the hobby for probably 10 years, and considering getting back in. Just browsing lights and am a bit confused. I always used Current USA fixtures on previous tanks and was happy with them.

I was looking at the Orbit Marine, and the Orbit Marine IC fixtures. Am I missing something, the Marine looks like a better light, more LEDs etc.. even though their site seems to be saying that the IC is a higher model....

This site https://current-usa.com/differences-...marine-ic-pro/ also says that part of the difference is the IC has LOOP, but so does the regular Marine.

I know they updated them a while back, so am I correct that the regular Marine is a better light then the Marine IC, or am I missing somehthing?

I would get more information. They don't list wattage for the led's.
What tank are these for?

They both say 36W, I assume that is total? The IC 72LEDs, and the regular marine has 155.

All this LED stuff is new to me, I'm used to PC, and MH lol...

Not sure about tank yet, I'm looking at a 36G Bowfront, but not sure....

From what they advertise as PAR readings & depth it will not be a good light except for a fish only tank.
I would look @ this light: Mars Aqua on Amazon.

After some research I think you’ve convinced me. Think the 165 would be good for a 36 bow front? Dimensions in pic.

I think lighting is one of the most important things for a reef tank. I made the mistake of buying a Current USA Marine IC Pro(has 2 light strips) for a 12 inch deep tank. It works but corals grow very slow. I would like to suggest spending just a little more money to start to get a good light. Reefbreeders Photon V2+ uses very good LED diodes and has plenty of light to grow all kinds of coral. Also in that price range are the AI prime 16HD and AI hydra 32HD. All of the above have programable ramp times.

What tank are these for? __________________ 250 gallon mixed reef, 2 Reefbreeder's Photon V 2, Deepwater BLDC 12, DAS EX-3 Skimmer, MTC mini cal, 2-3/4" Sea Swirls, Aquacontroller & 6 Tunze pumps.
