Supplimenting a Kessil ap700?
Just recently moved into a 120 that is 6’ wide, and my kess ap700 did great with a 75g 4’ tank, but cant obviouely reach one end of the tank.
Planning on someday gettif one of the analler keasil to put with it, but cant afford right now. Any suggestions on a light that would do well and supplement the kessill? Had a cheap cheP cheap LED no name brand i troed that a frodnd had, but it just looked horrible and undid what the kessil was fdoing |

The ap700 is a great light. You could try one of those Chinese led black boxes, if thats not what you tried already. Most work well and are relatively inexpensive.
You will lose your famous Kessil shimmer over that part of the tank tho. To maintain the shimmer, you will need a new or used a360w. Pic of my 4' tank with 2 a360w's only: Last edited by ComforablyNumb; 11/25/2017 at 02:34 AM. |

I put the ap700 in a aquaticlife t5 hybrid 60" when they release it in a few weeks. Would be great supplement.

Hmm yeah maybe ill try to find a used kessil or something. One 360 i think would be a great addition but i dont have the 300+ to butn right now. I tried a knockoff chinese led and it just took that beautiful spectrum the ap700 had and just made it look white and plain . Ill have to ask around. Maybe evay has something
Thanks! |

can you raise the ap700 up off the waterline and maybe increase the intensity until you get another ap700?

I could try that. Doesnt seem like no matter where i put it it reaches one end or the other. Basically ive atacked all my coral into one 3’-4’ section of the tank and leaving the far end undone to make sure i get good coverage on my coral
Does this forum have a buy/sell? |

That works fine, then Justin put lower light corals on the sides.
