Burping sump
Hello everyone,
I recently setup a 150ga tank with an eshop sump. I notice when I add medications or food with amino acids in it, the water from the return pipes come into the sump and start to make a loud burping noise. I don’t know if anyone else experiences this but want to know if there is a way to fix it or I have to live with it. Was just curious if this is normal since this is my first time having a sump. Thanks everyone. |

Changes to the surface tension of the water due to medications,etc... can effect the way the water is flowing through the pipes..
Its likely that you are right at the point of too high of a flow through the sump and just need to run slightly less flow.. Burping is typically associated with excessive flow pulling air down into the drain pipes
