How many sea slugs
How many lettuce sea slugs will do the trick for a 20 gallon tank? I've heard they eat a lot of algae, but they do get nutrients from the lights. So would 2 do the trick? I have no other algae eaters except a conch who cleans sand.

I would start with one, a 20g isn't very large

Even with one, sooner or later your tank will likely level out and nutrients will drop, unless you feed heavy and do no water changes. When this happens you may need to supplement the slugs diet.

I did not have luck with either. Sea hare split in half and the lettuce wasted away.

Maybe, but don't the slugs get some nutrients from your lights? So they aren't so algae dependent as other slugs. |
