9004 impeller loose
Hey picked up a used IM 40 gallon came with a tunze 9004 and it seems he impeller is loose and freezing up. I tried any which way I can with the impeller cover but it just spinning cockeyed and than freezes. Any solution or do I need a new impeller and where can I find one.

Make sure the metal shaft is rigidly fixed in the motor and is not seized in the impeller due to calcium build up. It sounds like that might be the issue and then you need to pull the shaft out of the impeller, clean the shaft and impeller of all calcium deposits by a long vinegar soak and press the shaft back in the motor and it should work. The shaft is not available as a spare part except as part of the motor. The impeller is part 9004.047 and can be ordered on Tunze.com.
