80g Rimless XR30 questions

Hello

looking for some suggestions.

i am currently running 2 XR30's over my tank @ 12'' from the top Tank dimensions (48x24x16), i have been considering retrofitting in 2 t5's in the back and 2 in the front to make up for the shadowing, but not sure if it would be best to lower them some, or pick up the 120 lens.

what are your thoughts on this.

Thanks guys!

Capcept,

If you do plan on adding T5 lighting, please make sure you disable the buttons on your Radion. Fluorescent bulbs will interfere with the buttons and cause your Radions to change colors or turn off periodically.

I don't beleive Ecotech would suggest adding a different product to supplement theirs, it would basically mean they admit to their product lacking something.

I would ask this in the equitment and hardware section, people may have already asked this question or someone may have done it already and can give you feedback.

I think it would be cool if Ecotech did come out with a radion T5 combo...

Personally, I don't feel that T5s are necessary to supplement the Radion LEDs. However, we certainly don't discourage it if you feel it would benefit your system.

I would defintiely recommend picking up a set of the Wide-Angle TIR lenses- it will help to increase spread if you're concerned about any shadowing.

I think wide angle lenses should sort out any shadowing and will still give you plenty of par at the bottom of a 24"
You could even try just swapping one lens on each radion and see if you can eliminate any shadowing that way!
