This rock will have cured for a month as of July 4th. The nasty smell is gone and the rock is just about odorless. I think it is safe to say it has cycled enough to be put in the display when I'm ready where it can continue to do its thing while I get things stabilized after setup.

Wow that's a great stand. Love the craftsmanship and skill. Can't wait to see the tank wet.

Working on sump layout and cutting the glass baffles today. I've researched bubble traps to the point where I am totally convinced it does not matter much if the water travels over then under or under then over.. LOL. I think I see more folks using over under leaving the skimmer to the fuge and then perhaps under over to the return pump. I don't know. Also considering putting my fuge on the far right with the return pump in the center. This would allow a deeper fuge but I'm concerned about the water overflow falling to far and creating bubbles in the return pump section. I guess I could put an over under bubble trap there as well. Using a 40B for the sump. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |

Skimmer partition going in. Decided to go with the larger and deeper fuge and put the return pump in the middle section.

Nice work. How thick are those baffles you are adding? They look thin. Be careful, I had thin baffles (1/8 or less)on a homemade sump, they got banged moving a skimmer and cut my hand pretty good. Your stand is fantastic.

Got the electronics partition into the stand yesterday. Not sure it's big enough but it will have to do. Need to drill a couple holes for cords and also in the back for venting.
Tank got a bath today. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |

Despite the sweltering So Cal heat, which my Apex (running in the garage) measured at a peak of 107*, I got a lot done today.
I got some holes drilled in the back of the cabinet as well as into the electronics area for the return pump line and cord routing. Got the sump in place and will be hanging the carbon/gfo reactor high on the back wall probably over the fuge. I've got about 7" of width remaining for an ATO resivour which I still need to source. I need to get a 4.5" he cut in the back for an exhaust fan. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |

Got the return line installed. Return line will drive the carbon /gfo reactor as well as fill the fuge.

Wow got a ton done since the last time I checked in. Everything looks good. I think I'm going to do the return in the middle for the 40g as well. It looks pretty good doing it that way.

I got the fuge light mounted and connected to the apex. Messed with the settings a bit. Starting to understand how the apex works. Been routing cables and getting everything connected. The amount of wiring is a bit overwhelming and I still have a lot to add. Really hoping I can get it organized. LOL. I'll be taking off to Ireland next week so I'll be responsible and wait until I get back to put the water in the tank. Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk |

ughh... HURRY UP AND GET THIS THING WET!!!!
Coming along nicely. Everyone has a "rats nest" of wires somewhere. It's very difficult to contain them all neatly. It always seems like every device has like 5 extra feet of wire that I don't need. I use wire raceways and will run the wires in loops to contain them.

I know, I know... although, I was told nothing good happens fast.. :-)
Did a 5 gal water change on the curing bin. Noticed there is something growing on the sides of the bin. I keep it mostly covered so I doubt it's algae. It seems to be a brownish green color. Pulled a rock out for the pic which looks and smells great. With no mechanical filtration or carbon the water is still pretty stained which you can see based on the color difference between the submerged rock and the one out of water.. Off to Ireland tomorrow for a week. Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk |

Looking good man. Can't wait to see it wet as well. I'm hopefully shooting to be wet next weekend. Man you never realize how much goes with the tank to keep it running. So many power supplies and cords everywhere. Lol

How will you hide those wires. That is my dilema. I made a cabinet placed on the side of my tank. But my wires are now all bunched up under the tank.

Spiritwalker's 120 gal build journal
Looking very nice. I’m also in the process of finishing my new build. I ended up putting in a magnetic divider to hide the cords that I can remove if I need to replace anything. I’m not looking to hijack your thread just throwing out ideas
