I should also mention I added some reefbrite XHO LED strips to my frag system. Hence the pop

Thanks everyone. Hey Dave, yup it's a candy basslet (Liopropoma carmabi). Had him for a couple years now.

Beautiful shots, especially of the candy. Spectacular fish, and representative of how they look in person. Many shots I've seen of them don't capture that almost fluorescent deep blue/purple which looks so cool in contrast with the orange body.

Great thread, don't know how I've missed it for so long! I hate when I starting reading these and the OP never posts a real update after the first batch of corals go in or the tank plainly crashes. Glad to see you're still rolling. The tank is looking beautiful.

Thanks scar. I always try to be honest with my images. If I am playing around with the images I usually say as much in the post.

I see you mention Radion & T5 on your system. Did you start that way or end up adding the T5's?

haahaa thanks Nick! Smugmug is down right now and all my image links are broken. Something to do with the cloudflare hosting and virus.

I added the T5 after the fact. I never liked the level shadowing and how dim LEDs appear despite how much light they're actually providing. T5 solves both grievances. I can't speak to the direct affect on the corals/growth because I added them when I restarted my system

I think if I were to buy new mitras LX7's I'd buy 4 instead of the 3 I have now.

Hey Scott, what is your current lighting arrangement. I believe Radion's and T5? Does it look like that in real life as opposed to camera capture? It looks really nice and exactly what I would like to achieve. I was thinking of adding T5's along with my Radions.

I have 3 GHL Mitras, 4x48" T5, 2 x 24" T5. Arranged like this:

------------
------------ ||
M M M ||
------------ ||
------------

I use only blue spectrum T5's, and run a pretty full colour gamut with the LED's. The pictures look pretty spot on, aside from looking brighter overall in person. It also really depends on what time of day I try to take the shots.

In retrospect, I would plan to have T5's and LED's right off the hop. The T5's were an after though and in my system a necessity. If I did it from scratch I'd use 4 LED bodies and 8 x 36" long T5's (4 on each long side side).
