My 55g reef :)
Just recently did a much needed upgrade from a 29g tank.
The background- Still using my t5 from my 29g on my new tank plan on adding a couple par38s onto this new set up. Running a prizim hob skimmer(plans to upgrade soon). Also running a canister filter. 2 korrila powerheads one 850g and one 250g. Stock list fish- 6 line wrasse Gold stripe maroon clown Sailfin bleeny Stock list corals- Sps- Red montipora Birdsnest Montipora digita green/ red Lps- Candy cane Green plate A couple acan frags Green favia Softies- Alot of random zoas Kenya tree Ora green toadstool Bunch ricodas Green hairy mushroom Anyways alot more to list but A picture says 1000 words enjoy |

Looks good, in my opinion, you should have gone 75g or 90g, you will eventually, 55's are hard to clean, they leave you almost no room to work with.

Yeah I was looking to go bigger but I came across this 55g tank for free so i dunno about you guys bu I don't usually turn down free

Yeah scaping a 55 is a pain because they are narrow. I had one a while back and did not like it to much because of that, a 75 is much better IMO. Looks like a good start. I recommend the Reef Octopus line of HOB skimmers. I however recommend adding a sump and getting rid of the canister filter.

Yes I Plan on adding a sump later this year as well I'm thinking of either using my 29g or maybe a 40g breeder

Update for today,
Added a yellow watchmen goby. Put a couple breakoffs onto frag plugs(2 montipora red, one montipora digita green) |

Today I ordered an A new cuc from reefcleaners. Stoked to get that sometime next week. Also did a 10g water change.

Looking good man. Good choice with goby. Cool fish. Looks like all the corals on that Rock are open and doing well. Thanks for taking it off my hands. It gives the scape a lot of depth with your placement. Well done.
